For me the research went really well. I am doing Malala, who was shot in the head standing up for her woman’s education rights. Thankfully, she still survived. I used Wikipedia to find my information but world book didn’t work. So I then went home and checked it on my own laptop. The information is correct, so I don’t need to redo my notes. All I need to do now is my Biography, I really don’t know whether to be excited or make a run for it. Oh well…
I think yesterday's Exploration didn't really go well for me because I didn't get much work done. I was a little uncomfortable using the laptop because I am not used to PCs. I want to focus on doing my research at home and maybe we can do something different to help us research our person next week.
Did you try using a iPad?
i liked using the computers it is fun i am doing it ane my mom so it is eser for me bute i am doing my best. i love my mom she is the letr of are family she cepes us to gether. we do not need ony ather tolese to help us. i think whute went smothky is the resech we chose wute we did and got to werk my resrch went wehell good to.
Hello Lexi. I wish you were on Tuesdays. Whenever I got upset you'd pull me out of it. I hope you are having fun on Thursdays. Who is your leader? From Luke
Luke I go Wednesdays now. I miss not having you in my class. My leader is my Mom. I hope I see you soon
I used wikipedia for my research. Tuesday was okay but i liked the first week of explorations. I thought it was the best because it was more active and that is what i like, especially because we are sat down all morning. I used the laptop for my work and it tuned out pretty well because i did a whole big paragraph. Maybe next week i will use wordbook for more information.
ONE THING THAT I ENJOYED AT THE EXPLORATIONS ON THE THIRD WEEK IS THAT I GOT SO MUCH INFORMATION ON MY LEADER. ONE THING THAT I DID NOT ENJOY IS THAT I DIDN'T EVEN START ON MY CONCLUSION!
When I did my research on Wednesday I used Wikipedia and some Worldbook. It was easy to find the information that I wanted. I got a page of notes on my leader. I used Wikipedia for information and Worldbook for double checking. I don't think that there are any other research tools that could have made it easier.
The research went very well for me. I researched a lot of information about my person (Hatshepsut). I usually use Wikipedia to do research but this time I used Wordbook instead. I wrote the information I got down on paper because I find it easier to do that than constantly switch over from the website to the document.
The research went well in the afternoon. I collected lots of information. I used wikipedia for my research because worldbook didn't work. I don't think any other tools would have been helpful.
Ya, worldbook didn't work for me either.
I explorations I was working on King David. I couldn’t find it very well because the story was made a long time ago. I found research of King David from the bible, my mom, a movie, from Google and my church. It was pretty easy.
My research didn't go that well because I didn't get much done. I found it hard to concentrate with my friends there, and one of the other kids was watching a video with his volume too high. World book work for me, and I got a bit of information from it, but I found research went smoother once I got home. I think if everyone had worn headphones, then it might have gone smoother.
I agree with Beverly, headphones would have worked better. I can't work with noise but I had the Aboriginal Support Teacher working with me so I couldn't have used headphones, but I still agree with Beverly.
I used wikipedia and World Book and they both went very smoothly. But after I found out that Abraham Lincoln did a few horrible things when he was young I was astonished. If I used the iPad it would have gone better I think because I am not used to using a laptop for those kind of websites.
Pretty much most of the time went well, but I couldn't find some information and there wasn't enough research to take up the whole afternoon. I took notes from World Book and Wikipedia on Arthur Currie. I brought a book from home and took notes from what my mom read to me, but couldn't find it in the book. I also looked at google images of Arthur Currie.
I got stuck. Twice. Ok, here's the first time. I didn't know who to write the biography on, and I was feeling overcome by the choices and restrictions at the same time. Choices are a big struggle for me because I always wonder if it's the best one, or if I'll regret it. On Thursday I chose Jamie Hyneman, co host of the hopefully familiar show MythBusters. He was a cool guy, but he didn't really show leadership skills. So we went back to "the shop", (our home) and we will find a true leader worth considering.
My research didn't go very well because I didn't come prepared with a person in mind. I think that if I had done my homework I would have been able to work through my prep work more carefully and that would have helped me better use my time on Thursday.
At home my mom and I were looking up Martin Luther King. We took some notes down on him. Also, I looked up Abraham Lincoln and thought he might be a good one to write up on. But when I did some research at school I changed my mind and thought of Adam Savage because I could dress up more like him. I used the Ipad and searched on Wikiapedia. I found some interesting facts about all of the crazy stunts Adam did. After talking with my mom about it, I am still not sure I want to do him as he may not be enough of a leader. So now I am looking at Walt Disney as the guy who had a great vision even when no one else believed it could be done.
I got a lot of information about my leader. I used wikipedia, I found that their was a lots of facts and I was able to put down key words to make sure I didn’t pagerize.
I'm doing Terry Fox as my leader. For my research at school I used wikipedia which worked pretty well but I still didn't have enough info. At school I felt I got distracted a lot and wikipedia didn't have enough details. So then I went to the library and took out a few books on Terry Fox that gave me a lot of facts. I think I have enough information now.
I am doing my bio on Lee Edward Fodi. he is an author of the Kendra Kandelstar books he is also the author of other picture books I had a great time researching him and talking with my friends did you know the lee edward fodi came to lochiel to teach us about his books. and I was there. I did not find anything on world book or on Wikipedia so I looked it up on the internet and I got some reaserch
exploartions class is the best
Doing the research was okay, but I think for some of the time we should have done something else. Lots of people got bored fast because there was not enough research to take up the whole afternoon.
My leader is Jim Henson I like him because the muppets they are very funny!
My research went well because I found a website that went well for my research. I listed most of the characters & it had lots of information on Jim Henson :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
My research went ok I did not get that much done.
I did not get that much information from world book and did not have time to go on Wikipedia.
Wikipedia would have helped in class,
I wish I looked at Wikipedia first.
I used Wikipedia to research Ringo Starr. There was lots of information. The other site I used was Worldbook but it wasn’t as good. My dad really likes the Beatles so he knows a lot about them. I’m going to ask him for help with my questions. My mom has several books about the Beatles so she can help me with my biography.
i thought researching rick hansen it was really intresting i used wikepidea and youtube it was fun
It went quite well. I visited http://trump.com, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump and http://www.forbes.com/profile/donald-trump/ I learned lots of personal information about him and I also learned that he was going to open a tower in vancouver in 2016.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
