An N.G.O. is a A non-governmental organization or any non-profit organization. I chose The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project provides crisis interventions and suicide prevention for lgbt youth. The reason I am so interested in this organization is for a couple reasons. 1; A youtuber I follow talks about this organization a lot and got me very interested. 2; it's something that I, myself, can use if needed. 3; I know many people who have gone to this organization for help, so it's something that is personal to me. The description they give is "Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24." I would be interested in being a TrevorChat Counselor because that gives me an opportunity to help LGBT youth that have nowhere else to go.

An N.G.O. is a Non-governmental organization which isn’t part of government or a commercial business. NGO’s can be government funded, however most rely on volunteers and donations.
One NGO that interests me in Samaritans Purse. Samaritans Purse helps with issues including family welfare, community development, natural disasters, nutrition, shelter issues, HIV/AIDS, and water issues.
If i could have any job within samaritans purse it would either be a disaster response worker or a volunteer with operation christmas child. Being a disaster response worker would be great because I could help people who really need help after a big natural disaster. However being a volunteer with operation christmas child would be amazing, delivering presents to kids who rarely ever receive presents anytime of the year.
An N.G.O is a Non-governmental organization that is neither a part of a government nor conventional for-profit businesses. Usually set up by ordinary citizens, NGOs may be funded by governments, foundations or businesses. Some avoid formal funding altogether and are run primarily by volunteers. I choose Free The Children. Free The Children is an international charity and educational partner that believes in a world where all children are free to achieve their fullest potential as agents of change. If I was older, I would volunteer at one of the supporting communities. http://www.freethechildren.com/about-us/
NGOs or non-governmental organizations are defined by the UN as "any kind of private organization that is independent from government, not for profit, non criminal and not simply a political opposition party". Because these organizations use money to support their goal rather than money as their goal, they are more likely to incur the trust and support of the public and are more likely to tackle long-term solutions to complex problems.
One NGO I am interested in is Farm Folk City Folk (FFCF). It's a small, local organization founded on 1993. It's goal is to support community based sustainable food systems. One of it's mandates is the protection of local farmland. FFCF has a commitment to helping new farmers have access to farmland (which is becoming obscenely expensive in our region) by forming farming cooperatives and farmland trusts.
FFCF connects local food producers to local food buyers through events such as Meet Your Maker and Feast of Fields.
Another important goal for the organization is protection and sustainability of seeds. They are responsible for helping to save, preserve and distribute non-GMO, organic seeds by helping to form seed co-ops and support seed libraries. My grandmother, Heather Pritchard, is the Farm Project Coordinator for this organization and so I have been lucky to be involved in many of the food-based celebrations that FFCF holds.
If I had a role in the organization, I would probably help with the software and website design. Though I do know a little about farming, my skills would best be put to use as technical support.
A NGO is a non-governmental agency. They usually rely on volunteers and donations to keep them running although some are funded by the government.
A NGO I am interested in is called first steps. Their mission is to provide nutrition for the children in North Korea. They do this by raising funds to send VitaCows to North Korea. A VitaCow is something like a an over-sized pressure cooker that can turn soybeans into protein-rich soymilk. Through doing this they provide over 80,000 children with a daily serving of soymilk which gives them the nutrients they need to grow.
If I were to be a volunteer at First Steps I would like to help raise money to send the VitaCows to North Korea. It would be a satisfying job because I would know that I was helping children grow up strong which would change their lives forever.
Sorry I did the wrong link on my name. Here's the right one^
Sorry, I also didn't include the website:
A N.G.O is a non- governmental organization. One N.G.O that interests me is the Partners In Health. This organization began as a community- based health project. It's goal is to alleviate economic and social burdens of poverty. The focus is on providing universal access to primary health care, free health and education services, hiring and training community health workers, and improving access to food, shelter, water and sanitation. I would be interested in the health care aspect working directly with sick people and helping them to improve their lives.
It's on my blog!
A NGO is a non-governmental organization that is not run by a government or a for-profit business. It can be funded by governments, foundations, businesses or can be entirely run by volunteers. I chose the Toronto Humane Society as the NGO I am interested in. The Toronto Humane Society’s mission is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals, to prevent cruelty and suffering. There are several of different volunteer opportunities within the Human Society. They are very involved with helping feral cats. One role I could play would be to with socialize feral kittens; another would be to foster a mother and her litter. The shelter always needs help with cleaning cages or socializing the cats and other small animals waiting to be adopted. The Toronto humane society is a worthwhile NGO I would enjoy helping.
and NGO is a non-governmental organization directly made for-profit.
i chose the on acre fund. at the core of the one acre fund is a market in which you can buy fertalizer or seed for farmers to buy it also provides educational books. it is sustained entirely off donors.
A NGO is a non-governmental organization that isn't government funded and is non-profit. One NGO that I am interested in is called Iris Ministries in Mozambique. Rolland and Heidi Baker went there to help the children living in the garbage dumps. They took the children in and established an orphanage with house 'Moms' to care for the children. These children would have likely died of starvation if they had not been rescued. I would love to go and see the work that they do there someday. As well, a role I would like would be to care for the children practically and physically.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
