Dear Parents, Guardians and Students of Division 8!
It was a great final day with the students today! I sincerely wish we had a bit more time to celebrate what has been, in all honesty, my favourite teaching year to date! When I think back on all the amazing things we did this year, it's hard to believe it's over. There have been so many great memories! From arts and crafts, to our baking, robotics measurements unit, to online shopping, the French Fashion Show, the Entrepreneurs and Heritage Fairs, as well as our Science Unit on alternative energy sources and the environment...it really has been an incredible year of learning! That's not to mention all the field trips to Science World, Sportsplex for Skating, Operation Waterproof at Al Anderson Pool, Stave Falls Power Plant and the Waste to Energy Facility, and of course Playland and Cultus Lake Waterslides, it has been great to get out of the school and try new things, and I definitely couldn't have done it without all the help of our amazing class parents! While I am sad to see the class move on, I am excited for their futures, and proud to have been a small part of their educational journey.
Thank you to all the students and parents who wrote me cards, sent me emails, and gave me gifts this year. I am humbled by your generosity and kind words, and hope to see you all in the halls, or in the school yard over the next few years.
Have a fantastic Summer Holiday, enjoy your time with your family, and get lots of rest. Don't forget to keep up with your reading, and even take some time to write for yourself. Most of all, have fun, and be safe. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the Fall (if not sooner)!
NOTE: I have attached photos of all the items that were left behind in the class today. Please come by tomorrow to collect them between 9 - 12pm, as after lunch I will be putting them in the lost and found. *If you are unable to make it to the school, but can describe the item you want to pick up, please email me at: [email protected] before lunchtime on Friday, and I will put the item(s) in the office for you.*
