After a long, hot day of athletics and games at yesterday's James Kennedy Sports Day, I was expecting a lot of lethargic or tired students today, but to my surprise, they were full of their usual vim and vigour, and ready to roll! The day began, one final time (sadly) with a music lesson with Mr. Tressel. The students were saddened to hear that he will be moving schools next year. It has been incredible to see the work he has done with them. Following a brief snack break, the students and I headed to the gym, for a game of Doctor Dodgeball. In the mid part of our day, we turned our attention back to their typing skills. (I attached a copy of their year long progress below.) After lunch, we had a short reading period, followed by a short jaunt to Mrs. O'Shea's room for a teamwork planning and paper challenge. It was great to see all the smiling faces, laughter and friendships that have formed since the winter with our little buddies's class. To end our day, we quickly cleaned up.
REMINDER: Playland is this Friday, and we would ask that parents arrive at school a little early. Classroom door will be open at 8:30am, and that they arrive no later than 4pm for pick up at the end of the day. Also, a reminder to pack sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle for your child, in addition to their lunch.
