The day kicked off as normal with a single block of LA and a block of Math. In Language Arts, the students settled on their iMovie Trailer formats and chose a topic for the project. After the first 2 blocks, we dove into our school's 2nd Annual Global Play Day. The students handed in their electronic devices and were given 2 blocks to play. Some played "Life", others played cards, some even played "Battleship", "Pictionary "and Trivia games. It was fantastic to see everyone playing, enjoying themselves and working together. (See the photos below.) For the last two blocks of the day, we divided our time between playing in the gym and playing outside. Again, it was student driven, with teacher supervision. All in all, I think it was a ton of fun, and an afternoon well spent!
HOMEWORK: Revised good copy of the Compare and Contrast Essays are due on Monday, as are the Point Form Notes from pages 130 - 136 of the Social Studies textbook. Finally, please hand in any missing assignments.
NOTES: I am hoping to have all the marks entered by the end of the weekend. Almost all the recently submitted assignments are marked, all of the old assignments have been eliminated from CMM, and I just need to finish formatting and entering the student performance marks.
