The students worked hard again today, as has been the trend all week. We completed another couple of chapters of Hatchet, as we inch ever closer to the end of our first novel study of the year. After a couple of blocks in their explorations class, the student returned after lunch to resume their work on their Mesopotamia game. Today saw the Governors play the roles of judges, hearing and interpreting the laws within the Code of Hammurabi, before handing down their sentences.
At the beginning of the day, Division 7 had the chance to discuss the idea of a Secret Santa or a mystery gift exchange. The students opted for Secret Santa, and the names have been drawn and will be handed out tomorrow. There is a $10 maximum on the gift, and I am asking the students to wrap their gift and have it brought into class, by no later than Wednesday, December 16th. We will discuss the same with Division 8 on Thursday.
HOMEWORK: a number of students did not have their HW ready this morning for the Homework check, so if they did not finish the four questions and the Try This #1 on page 76, to have them complete for tomorrow. Also, Science World Permission slip and clean glass jars are still needed by the end of the week.
