BrainPOP is one of my all-time favourite online learning programs. I have used it for years and while it is based on the US curriculum, it is still relevant and jam-packed with excellent lessons, activities and information in every subject area!!!

Khan Academy is primarily a Math and Science based website, but it does offer other free courses and subject lessons. As like the other resources on this page, it is free!! I have used Khan Academy math video tutorials to help with teaching in class, as their instructors do an excellent job of explaining math concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Duolingo can be accessed either as a website or as an application for your tablet or smart phone. It is a fantastic program that first assesses a learners previous knowledge, then sets them on a path to learn a language though interactive and practical activities. Even though we won't be covering French as part of our home learning this term, it would be an excellent way to build on your existing skills and learn in a fun, self-paced way, and I would like every student to sign up for an account and to email / share me their progress as part of their Learning Log.

Some of the grade 6s will have signed up for Prodigy last year, but just in case they can't remember their logins & passwords, I have signed every student up for a Prodigy Math Game account. Prodigy is a Math Adventure game that allows you to play along with others by answering math related questions, specifically tailored to your level and skills. (I will send/share the logins & passwords later this week.)
