Nothing like some fitness testing to shake off the rust of sitting inside the past week, while we waited for the rain and warmer temperatures to return. It was an uninspiring performance in the 12 minute run and the step-ups today, so our class will try again on Wednesday morning to improve on our week three scores. Back in class, we turned our attention to combatting "Blue Monday". We talked about why today might be called Blue Monday, and then listed a bunch of things that make us happy.
After we'd cheered ourselves up, we turned our attention to a free writing activity in which we wrote then shared about the things that make us happy in our lives. I can't speak for the students, but just hearing about what makes them happy, put a smile on my face. After recess, it was time to correct and work on our Factoring worksheets. We first corrected the one we did last week, then started a second more difficult page which is due for homework if not completed in class. Following the lunch break, the students headed to Mrs. O'Shea's for Lil Buddies and did a Chinese New Year's lantern celebrating the year of the Rat. Back in class, the student worked on their planning sheet for their Heritage Fair projects.
HOMEWORK: Please complete the second factoring worksheet. All completed worksheets are worth 2 points and a grade for homework completion.
REMINDER: This is the final week for Fitness Testing, so please make sure students have the appropriate footwear for gym class.
