This is both an exciting time, and a sad time, as it signals the beginning of the Summer Break, but also the end of another amazing year here at James Kennedy Elementary. Every September I wonder what the year will hold, and which memories and friendships will be made, and this year didn't never failed to surprise and inspire me. I am incredibly proud of each and everyone of the students for their patience, empathy and willingness to take chances this year. I pushed and challenged them to be as independent, creative and collaborative as they could be this year, and I was blown away by their efforts, and the trust they showed in me and each other. My biggest hope for the kids was that they would enjoy coming to school, have fun learning, make some new friends and take on new challenges. Only they will know if it was a successful year, but judging by the smiles and laughs we had, I'd call it 10 months well spent together.
Thank you to all of the Support Teacher Special Educational Assistants who helped in our class this year, making room 147 the best place to learn in our school, and to all of the Parents and Grandparents who lent a hand throughout the year so that we could make our field trips, parties and excursions possible.
It has been my extreme honour to have been a small part of your child's educational journey, and I hope that each and everyone of you have a restful July and August, and I can't wait to see everyone again in September!
Be good!
- Mr. Main
PS - I attached one of my favourite pictures from earlier in the year...it's amazing to see how much all the students have grown and changed since then!
