With the weather starting to slowly heat up, so too was the workload in Division 10. The students began their day with a World Map Challenge competition. Teams went head to head to locate and name a variety of countries from across the globe. After their early morning warm-up, it was off to see Mr. Barkman for Music class and to get their recorders. When the students returned, they had time to finish up their French Body Parts Posters. Following recess, the students were treated to a Lacrosse lesson from a member of the Vancouver Stealth and a representative of the Langley Thunder. After lunch we had our usual silent reading period, then a trip to Mrs. Cramer's K/1 class to do some art together with their Little Buddies.
HOMEWORK: Please finish the French Body Parts flash cards. Each needs to have a coloured drawing of a body part, as well as the French word for that body part on the back of the card. Please make sure the cards include the following words:
les yeux le nez la bouche les cheveux une oreille le cou le bras le ventre
le coude la main les doigts le genou la jambe les orteils le pied
Also, please bring a square, rectangular, round, or oval item that can be left at school for the week, that we can use it for a measurement activity later in the week. (It should not be something of value, or that you need on a daily basis.) It shouldn't be any larger than a basketball or a Cereal box.
