Today was all about Laini, as we celebrated her, and gave her a proper Division 10 send off! The day began with the students writing a farewell message, and drawing a self-portrait for Laini, to help remind her of us all, as she is set to move all the way across Canada. After completing our messages, we took a quick left turn, and watched a video as part of our First Nations' Social Studies unit. After Music class, we wrapped up our class discussion on the differences between European and First Nations views on nature, and discussed some of the challenges of First Contact. After lunch, it was eating and party time!! (Thank you to all the parents who helped contribute to today's feast!) We then headed outside for DPA with Mrs. Gore's class, as we couldn't have our regularly scheduled gym time, because the gymnasium was in use. After burning of some of the Pizza, veggies, and chips outside, we returned inside to finish of Laini's last day with, what else....DANCING!!!! It was a great day, and a wonderful way to spend our last day in class with Laini!
