With it being the big performance day for our Division 10 singers and actors, there were lots of nervous performers today. So to help keep their minds on something else, we had a fun and intellectually challenging day. It all kicked off with the resumption and completion of the trivia challenge that we had begun the day earlier with Division 8, though this time, it was table group vs. table group with class points on the line. The students blew me away with some of their knowledge, and the Canadiens use their intellectual prowess to blow away the competition and open up a major lead on the other teams. Following recess, it was Crafts day, and the students worked hard on their Painted Glass Jars. We did have a couple of "Ooops" moments, and both Rowan and Charlie's jar were shattered (by accident)...but for those that survived the afternoon, there are a number of excellent jars. Following the lunch break, the students had a bit more time to work on their artwork, before silent reading and eventually heading down to the gym to perform for a packed house.
REMINDER: If you have not yet handed in your $5 for the Christmas party, or dropped off your Secret Santa gift, then please do so tomorrow. Please remember also that Friday is not only our Class Christmas party and gift exchange, but also Pajama Day at James Kennedy Elementary.
NOTE: Because of injuries sustained by JKE students over the past few days, sleds, boogie boards, crazy carpets or any other sliding device has been banned from schoolgrounds. In addition, because of the icy conditions on school hills, they have been ruled out of bounds until further notice.
