Some absolutely awesome costumed students were roaming the halls of James Kennedy Elementary today, and a good amount of them came from Division 10. We had hippies, zombies, werewolves, vampires and even babies. In fact there were so many great Halloween outfits that it's impossible to pick a favourite. The day began with the students making cards for their little buddies, and with students picking out their pumpkins. We then played a school year review game, once the class had returned from Music Monday. After recess, that's when the real fun began, as everyone started carving their gourds. Half the class got your regular run of the mill pumpkin, while the other half got what seemed like Kevlar lined pumpkins, that were so hard, that Mr. Hamm went home to bring back power tools to help us carve. Following clean up (and some impromptu dancing), the student had a chance to eat some of the delicious treats and snacks that were brought in. (THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO DONATED...I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!) Following lunch, we had a quick visit from our lil' buddies class, and the students presented each of them a ghost lollipop, and a hand drawn Halloween card. We capped off our day with a boatload of photographs and by watching the first half of Surfs Up!
REMINDER: Tomorrow is the beginning of the Scholastic Book Fair, an excellent time to get a jump start on your Holiday Shopping!
Also, we will be starting our day off in the gym tomorrow, so please be sure to pack indoor shoes.
NOTE: A massive thank you to all the Parent Volunteers today!! The day would not have been remotely as successful as it was, without your help, patience and support. THANK YOU!!
