Wow!! What a way to start our week. From surprise visits, to incredibly efficient art, to unbelievably fun lil' buddies, to epic diorama presentations, it was an awesome day at James Kennedy!!!
The students were able to create a Thank you card for the staff at LEFT for letting us come visit them last week. We were even able to present the card in person to Saju, one of our instructors from LEFT. After music class and some rehearsal, we got to sit back and learn more about animals like the sea turtle, sea otter, zebra, koala and even Komodo dragons (just to mention a few). The presentations were very well done, and it was a ton of fun seeing the students present with such enthusiasm about their animal and habitat. We even got the chance to share our diorama projects with our Lil' buddies, who came to visit, learn and read with their big buddies this afternoon. We capped off an awesome Monday with a short video and worksheet about the history of the Christmas holidays. (Video and worksheet are posted on the Social Studies page.)
HOMEWORK: please bring your completed diorama project tomorrow if you didn't today, and complete your "Bet you didn't know - Christmas" worksheet, if it wasn't done in class.
REMINDER: There is Skating tomorrow, and we are hoping to have as may parent volunteers drivers as possible to help us get the students to and from Sportsplex Tuesday afternoon. Parent drivers, please meet in the classroom at 12:30.
