We broke open a fresh week of school in Division 10 this morning with an Alphabet Brain Breaker game, that got the students out of their Monday morning lull, and straight into thinking creatively. Students paired off to compete for points for their groups by coming up with words related to a randomly drawn letter of the alphabet. Both James and Kale retired undefeated, while all the other students put in a solid effort, especially given it was first thing Monday morning. After they returned from Music class, it was the final opportunity to finish any missing French Flash Cards. (Please see images of the words necessary for the Flash Cards on the Left *Numbers are optional*) After recess, we walked through the expectations of the Math Measurement Challenge (they began on Friday), and the students broke out their rulers and ribbon to finish of their worksheets. (Nice job Thomas, Aiden, Jackson & James for getting to Avengers Level!!) In the afternoon, the school was visited by a Hip Hop Dance Crew, who thrilled the JKE Audience with a mixture of Freestyle, Break, Hip Hop Dance and some Rap and Poetry. HOMEWORK: Students need to have their French Flash Cards completed by no later than Thursday, January 26th. I will be collecting them for marking. Flash cards should be properly labeled, drawn and coloured. |
