The day began with a quick and simple review of our French numbers, before the students left for music and library. Upon return, we finally had a chance to put our French Flash Cards to use with a class-wide game of Frappette. The students are doing incredibly well with their French, so much so, that we added more vocabulary words to the students' repertoire. (École (school), Stylo (pen), Papier (paper) & Ballon (ball).) Before lunch, we launched into a Mirror Image Art assignment, which tested their patience, imagination, and creativity. They did a really good job, and it was encouraging to see the students persevere through their challenges. In gym class it was a bit of a rough go today, as both classes were really wired, but after blowing off some with some running, we were able to get in a game of benchball.
HOMEWORK: Please review and study this week's spelling list, and be ready for tomorrow's quiz. Please also wear your Orange Shirt tomorrow, as we will be wrapping up our unit on Residential Schools, with a visit from Josette Dandurand, who will be leading us through some activities and sharing her experiences as a Residential School Survivor.
REMINDER: Tomorrow is the final day to vote on and bring in Money or Food Bank donations as part of our JKE Movember Fundraiser. Any student who brings a donation will receive a treat and 5 points for their team.
