Division 10 began their day with a double dip of Music and Library, before making their way back to class for a quick math review on base 10 blocks and place value. Following the recess break, the students worked hard on their "ME" projects, in which they decorated pictures of themselves with images of activities they enjoy doing, or things they like. In the afternoon, we discussed the reasons behind Orange Shirt Day, Residential Schools and the process of Truth and Reconciliation. We then watched part of a CBC interview with survivors and children of survivors from Residential Schools. I was blown away by the depth of understanding, compassion and respect the students demonstrated in discussing the topic. At the end of the day, we combined with Division 8 for an enormous game of Doctor Dodgeball.
