With rain scheduled to return to our forecast tomorrow, we couldn't resist but to take gym class outside to enjoy some beautiful summer-like conditions. Both Division 8 and 10 combined forces for a massive game of Dragon Tag or Pinny Tag. The picture below doesn't do it justice, but it was like a swarm of hornets around a nest, as student chased, juked and deked their way past each other. Following gym class we returned to complete a sheet called "5 Things I'd like my Teacher to know about Me" (I attached a PDF copy below), to help students reflect on their strengths, and struggles as students. After recess we had a short amount of time to work on our Math, before we had a Lock Down Drill. While it was only a drill, I reminded the students of the importance of practicing the drills as if they were real situations. A handful of students were talking during the drill, so if was off to Mme. Guillou's office to find out why it is so important to be quiet and follow rules in those situations. After the drill, the students had the remainder of their mid-morning blocks to complete their Division worksheets. After lunch we had an abbreviated reading period, then it was off to the gym for our Athletics Excellence Awards ceremony in which we acknowledged James Kennedy athletes for their results at the District Track and Field Meet last month. Congratulations to Maya, Chloe S, Jaylin, Erica and Kale for their awards! We capped off our day with part one of our Self Portrait art assignments.
HOMEWORK: Please finish all questions of Division/Long Division questions for tomorrow. We will review answers in class.
REMINDER: Deadlines for submitting Movie & Cultus Lake forms are rapidly approaching. We are also still in need of drivers for our trip to Colossus on the 19th, so if you are able to drive, please contact me at: [email protected]
