We took the morning to work off our turkey and stuffing bellies with an intense game of Castle Ball in the gym, then headed back to class to discuss the Christmas Concert, and class responsibilities. After the recess break, the students had time to work quietly on their Art Folders and then we did some creative writing with our Story Starters. Today's images included: a boy at the Zoo looking at an elephant, a fallen ice cream cone, a car chase, three men eating tacos, and a porcelain frog. I'm really looking forward to reading how the students weave their stories together. For the last part of the day, we worked on telling time, and then completed 2 pages in our math texts, based on place value and expanded form of numbers.
REMINDER: Permission forms for the Langley Sportsplex Ice Skating are due as soon as possible, along with the $28 necessary to take part. We are also still looking for Parent Volunteer Drivers to help transport the students to and from the arena, beginning on TUESDAY (not Wednesday as I incorrectly wrote on our notices last week) November 8th.
ANNOUNCEMENT: I am pleased to announce that Marion Godfrey (Kendra's Mom) has stepped up, and agreed to be our Room Parent for Division 10 this year. THANKS MRS. GODFREY, it is going to be an awesome year!!
