What better way to kick off a chilly Thursday morning, than by decorating the class for the holidays! The day started with the students decorating their construction paper Christmas Trees, after about an hours of drawing, colouring, cutting and pasting, it was time to head to the gym. In PE class, we began playing our Laundry Basket Ball mini-tournament. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff & Ravenclaw all went head to head for class bragging rights. After recess, the students continued with day two of the Hour of Code. Again, lots of smiling faces, and engaged students navigating the challenges put forward to them on code.org. After lunch it was time to focus, and get started on their good copy of their Holiday stories. We finished our day with DPA, and by handing out our Secret Santa Wish Cards.
HOMEWORK: I have sent home to the Secret Santa wish cards. Taking part is OPTIONAL, however, I want the students to discuss it with their parents first. IF parents approve, please have a parent or guardian sign and print their name on the back of the paper, approving the students participation in Secret Santa. Again it is an optional activity, and we will do the Secret Santa Activity during the final week of classes. (No date set yet)
NOTE: In recognition of the final day of Computer Sciences Week, we will celebrate Tech Day tomorrow afternoon in class. Students may bring their electronics to play and share, however, they will be responsible for their devices, and need to only use them for appropriate activities (collaborative online games, education games, coding, etc...), student will lose their Tech Day privileges if they are playing one player games, surfing the net, watching YouTube, posting to Instagram, etc. Using technology is a reality of our daily lives, learning to use it at appropriate times, is a valuable skill to acquire as our student grow up in a rapidly changing digital world. ** I have booked the Laptops for anyone who doesn't have or who doesn't want to bring their personal technology.**
REMINDER: Tomorrow is Hot Lunch! (Greek food...yummy!!)
