What better way to jump start your day, than with 75 minutes of jumping rope! That's exactly how the day began for Division 8 and their Lil' Buddies, as the class took part in Jump Rope for Heart day. Following the recess break, we dove into chapter 2 of the Breadwinner and discussed some of the challenges that Parvana faces that, fortunately, most of us will never have to endure. The students took turns reading and we explained some of the more difficult vocabulary. After lunch, we had a quick post-hot lunch clean up, then spent our afternoon exploring Scratch, Scratch Jr., Bloxels, Dash and Microbit with Mrs. Pimentel. I loved seeing the students immerse themselves in creative coding and problem solving.
HOMEWORK: The students should take a look at, download and complete the practice quiz on the Math Page. Monday's quiz will feature the exact same type of questions and follow the same format, so doing the pre-quiz would be beneficial.
NOTE: Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help drive students to the Stave Falls Powerplant & the Waste-to-Energy facility on May 8th and 10th. I will be contacting parents next week, but could still use a few more drivers. If you are able to drive, please contact me at: [email protected]
