As Friday's go, it was a pretty good, if not a tad rambunctious, in class today. The day began easily enough with the students visiting with Mr. Barkman for music class and a recorder quiz. When they returned, we worked on the short stories we'd begun on Monday, then finished up the early part of our morning with a multiplication table race game. After recess, it was time to prepare for our Remembrance Day Assembly, and the class divided up into three work groups. One tackled soldier silhouettes, another did poems, and the third coloured poppies for our classroom wreath. After a sushi and Cob's bread hot lunch, the students read or wrote, before completing their day with one final round of Remembrance Day art.
HOMEWORK: I had intended to read and rehearse with students today, but we will postpone that until Monday to give interested students more time to practice reading either "Flanders Fields" or "War is Never Over." Both poems can be found on the Social Studies Page.
REMINDER: We will begin our skating lessons again on Wednesday, and because of the unexpected power outage earlier in the week...our lessons will now run until December 13th. Thanks again to all the parents who've volunteered their time to help drive the students' to the arena.
