Glorious (and long overdue) sunshine, framed our day today, as we tried to take our work outside as much as possible. To kick off the morning, we spread out around the upper field for a team code breaking relay. After about 30 minutes of fresh air, running the getting their brains in high gear, we shifted back inside to continue with our lessons on self-regulation with Sam. She talked a lot about non-verbal communication and how our body language says more than even our words. Just before recess, the students worked to translate English sentences into French, using the vocabulary they've learned this year. During the midday, our focus was on fractions and factors, and correcting our worksheets. We wrapped our morning by reviewing the questions from the Waste-to-Energy video. After lunch, we headed back outside for silent reading, then DPA, and finished our day with a class read aloud.
HOMEWORK: Please finish your last three pages of the Math Booklet, and make sure your Stephen Hawking questions are done for tomorrow.
NOTE: Permission slips for our field trips to Stave Falls, the Waste-to-Energy facility and our Operation Waterproof swimming program are due. Also we are still looking for parent-drivers for our trips on May 8th and May 10th. If you are able to help, please contact me at: [email protected]
