We started our day with a communication and listening warmup activity, that took us outside to do a Story Race Game. Students had to pass along phrases from a short story, by running between communication stations, relaying their part of the story to their classmates, similar to playing the telephone game. It was a lot of fun to see the students working well together and narrowing down, and rectifying their communication breakdowns. When we returned inside we turned our attention to our French Fashion Show projects. After recess, we resumed our review of adding and subtracting fractions with a couple of Khan Academy videos, (posted on the Math Page) then the students began work on a fractions worksheet. Following the quietest silent reading period in the history of Silent Reading. To reward them for their unbelievable focus and reading, we took a quick DPA break outside. When they returned inside, we had just enough time to finalize our groupings for the Fashion Show (List posted on French page), and to start creating our scripts. (A sample script, translations and template is posted below.)
HOMEWORK: Students DO NOT need to work on their French Scripts at home, as we will work on them in class tomorrow and finalize them on Wednesday. Students DO need to organize their outfits that they'll be wearing, and have the clothes placed in a plastic bag and ready to bring in for Wednesday, ahead of Thursday's presentations.
