Sometimes being pressed for time, results in a more production and efficient use of time. Today, was one of those days, as the class was on task and able to get completed most of what we set out to do today. To get our brains going this morning, we broke out the BINGO sheets (Cooper's good idea!!), and we played math bingo for the first 40 minutes of the day. After an early snack break, we switched gears and flexed our French muscles, by breaking into groups of four, and then taking turns to describe what their classmates were wearing. After recess, the class was given a math work package reviewing a number of the key skills the students should be aware of in Grade 5. While working on the math packages, I took aside small groups of students and helped get them set up with their School District Office 365 accounts, which gives them access to Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher and other District approved Microsoft applications. After lunch, the class were able to use their newly activated accounts to begin compiling their research information online, in preparation for next week's BC Communities Project presentations.
HOMEWORK: Students will need to finalize by Thursday morning which visual presentation format they will be using to do their BC Communities projects. The options are Slide show (Power Point, Google Slides, Prezi), a video, or a Poster. All presentations, regardless of format, must be between 2 - 5 minutes in length.
