The day began with the students taking part in a dice rolling work warm up. They partnered up, then rolled their dice, added up the total, and created words with the corresponding number of letters. From there they swapped partners, and played a words association game with their lists. Finally they returned to their seats and began working on a story they integrated all of their words. Just before recess and after our snack break, we reviewed our French colours and clothing Flash Cards. (We will be adding verbs to our deck of cards later this week.) After recess, we began correcting and explaining the answers from Thursday's Math Quiz. In the afternoon, the students had their silent reading, then we began to read a book, and we began to learn about the origins of the First World of War. HOMEWORK: Tomorrow is Halloween Day, as well as our Pumpkin Carving, and Halloween Party. If any parents or students would like to drop their food items off before the bell, I will be available in the classroom as of 8:30am. Parent volunteers are welcome for the pumpkin carving between 10:50 - 12pm.
REMINDER: We start our skating lessons on Wednesday morning, and we are still in search of some more parent-drivers. If you are able to help out, please contact me at: [email protected], and fill in the volunteer driver's forms in the office. Thanks!!
