We managed to sneak outside before the skies opened up this morning, for a warm up activity called Cyclops tag. The game is intended to give the students a better appreciation for what people with visual impairments need to deal with on a daily basis. Following the activity, we headed indoors to review our French colours with a colour by numbers worksheet (attached on the French Page). Once the pencil crayons and felts were packed away, we then corrected our spelling quizzes, and then turned our attention to editing and condensing our school's PAWS statements, into something a little more concise, easier to remember and understand (see below). Just before the lunch recess bell, we had an unexpected and unscheduled fire drill, and I am happy to say, the students reacted flawlessly, as we all made it to the upper field in record time, and in an appropriate manner. As it turned out, it was a false alarm, but I was glad to see the students exit with purpose and the necessary urgency. Once we put the wraps on the extended lunch hour, it was time to finish their Me! Posters. Thanks to Megan G, Megan O and Matt T for all their help in putting our artwork up in the hall for everyone to see.
HOMEWORK: Please finish the French Colour By Numbers worksheet, as well as the Me! Poster if they weren't completed in class.
REMINDER: It's a busy week at JKE! Tuesday is our first Cross Country race of the season, Wednesday is photo day, Thursday is Meet the Teacher Night (6 - 7 pm in Room #147), and Friday is early dismissal at 11:30am.
