It was a day of discussion and learning in Division 8 today, as we continued to dive deeper into how we use our natural resources, and the impact it is having on the environment and our daily lives. Today began with a short documentary about what the world may look like, and how people will live in 30 years. (Click the link to see: the DOCUMENTARY and the associated NOTES.) We then discussed the issues brought up in the video, and finally questioned some of the scientific forecasts. Just before recess, we joined Mr. Chan's class for a highly competitive half hour of 4 corners soccer. In the midday, we turned our attention back to science and reviewed this week's spelling words, in preparation for tomorrow's Spelling Quiz. (Students taking part in the Heritage Fair, will do their Spelling quiz on Monday.) In the afternoon, the class had their usual Silent Reading period, followed by time to review our Fractions work booklet.
REMINDER: Students taking part in tomorrow's District Heritage Fair should meet at our class at 8:15am. Also please remember that tomorrow is hot lunch day, and early dismissal.
HOMEWORK: I am still missing a number of the Power Surge Assignments. Students also need to make sure they have completed their entire fraction work booklet, as we plan to correct the last page in class tomorrow. Finally, please study your Spelling list, ahead of tomorrow's quiz.
NOTE: Thank you to all the students who wore their jerseys today, to show support for the Community of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, and for their Jr. A hockey club, the Broncos.
