Today's big goal was time management, and staying on task, so we began our day with dividing the class into three groups and had them read through their student-created stories, solve their math word problems. and play and review their French vocabulary with their completed sets of Flash Cards. After a quick nutrition break, we headed down to the gym to play Castle Ball with Mr. Chan's class. During the middle part of our day, we read through, reviewed and studied our spelling sentences ahead of tomorrow's first spelling quiz of 2018. (List of sentences are attached below.) In the afternoon, the class had silent reading, then were broken into small groups and using the class iPads used Google Maps to locate and identify and number of communities around British Columbia. (List of communities is posted below) The students then had the opportunity to choose a community to study as part of a Social Studies research project that we will be working on over the next few weeks.
HOMEWORK: Please take 5 - 10 minutes to do a quick google search to learn more about your chosen BC community, to make sure it is the city or town that you would like to present on. If you would rather change to a different community, it must be changed tomorrow, so that we can begin using our study time efficiently. Please also study sentences 1 - 20 for tomorrow's quiz. YOU DO NOT NEED TO MEMORIZE THE SENTENCES.
