Wow! We kicked off our day with the students handing in their posters and slide shows, then gave the class time to practice their presentations with their classmates, and to tidy up and get their binders and cubbies organized. I was blown away by how good the posters and power points were, and can't wait to see the presentations in class tomorrow! From there, we headed off to gym, where we once again divided up into two sides, one playing basketball, while the other played laundry basket ball. After recess, the class returned to review their vocabulary & spelling words, and we played some very intense Bingo! For the last part of our midday, we worked on some math word problems involving fractions and decimals. In the afternoon, it was an impressive silent reading period, followed by a lesson on note taking, and finally put a wraps on things with a couple more chapters from Wonder.
REMINDER: Students should practice or study their notes for their BC Communities presentations. While I am hoping each student will "present" their research, and not just read from a paper....I do not expect them to memorize their notes.
NOTE: Thank you to the parents who have already signed and handed in their Operation Waterproof permission forms and $8.
