We kick started our day with an incredible video demonstrating what can be done, rather than what can't, called "The Superhumans". Super cool, check it out below!! It was the lead in to our afternoon assembly with Michael Bortolotto, who shared his story of perseverance, overcoming bullying and the power of friendship. Before heading off to gym class, we finalized our baking groups and settled on the goodies. (See list on the Math Page) My hope is that we will be able to do our baking demonstrations on June 7th and 8th, and I will be looking for 2 - 3 parent volunteers to help with the actual baking of the cookies and treats. Following recess, the class played a couple games of spelling Bingo, and then we did a creative writing activity called Story Starters. In the afternoon, Mrs. Gore joined us to hear the students read their incredibly imaginative Story Starters stories . At 1:30, the grade 3, 4 and 5 classes headed into the gym to hear an inspirational talk from Michael Bortolotto. (learn more about him by clicking here)
