It was a pretty exciting start to the day, as the class got to meet their new music teacher Mr. Tressel for the first time. While the students are sad to see Mr. Barkman retire, they were ecstatic returning from their inaugural class with their newest teacher. After a quick nutrition break, we dove into our French vocabulary, and the table groups worked together to study their words, ahead of their vocabulary & comprehension competition. After recess, we discussed resolutions, their success, and the importance of setting specific, attainable goals. Also, as part of the challenge, the students had their thumbs taped to the palm, to see how difficult even the simplest things can be when you have a physical challenge. After lunch and silent reading, we joined Mr. Chan's class for a basketball dribbling and passing lesson. We finished off our day, by returning to class to get our spelling sentences, to complete their missing work, or to write about their holiday break.
HOMEWORK: Students need to complete their Final 5 tasks assignment, as well as their composition about their holiday break. Both are due by no later than Thursday morning.
NOTE: I have attached the words and sentences for the next two weeks of spelling. For this Friday's quiz, students should study sentences 1 - 20...next week, we will tackle sentences 21 - 40. The words and sentences can be found on the Language Arts page.
