What a great day! We spent the majority of our day at the Stave Falls Powerhouse, which is a decommissioned BC Hydro hydroelectric dam, that is now used as a tourist information centre. The students had the chance to tour the facility, learn more about how dams generate electricity, and test out some electrical experiments. Before leaving the area, we took a short hike, and had a picnic lunch at Hayward Lake!
REMINDER: Tomorrow is a regular school day, however Thursday we head on another field trip, this time to the Waste-to-Energy facility in Burnaby. Please arrive at school no later than 8:30am, and make sure you are wearing long sleeves, pants and close toed shoes.
NOTE: Thank you very much to all the parent-driver/chaperones who joined us today on our field trip. Without your time and support, today's excursion to Stave Falls would not have been possible. MERCI BEAUCOUP!!
