Tuesday started with a trip to Music class. When the students returned, they were treated to a visit from Mrs. Pimentel, who introduced them to a new set of Digital Building Blocks that we just received as part of her Inspire project to help the students foster their creativity and inventiveness. We also discussed out coding and robotics clubs, that will be offered later in the school year. Following Mrs. Pimentel's visit, the students received this week's spelling list. All the spelling words this week are taken from a book called "Fatty Legs", that we began reading after recess in class today. Be sure to ask the your child what Kamiks, Ptarmigans and Schooners are. After more discussion and explanation of the book, it was lunch time. Following a very quiet silent reading period, it was off to the gym, for a very loud and enthusiastic Benchball tournament with Mr. Chan's class. At the end of the day, we reflected on the history and meaning of "Orange Shirt Day", before the students put their artistic skills to work to design an orange shirt of their own. At 2:15, Mrs. Lainchbury took over in the classroom, so that Cooper, Alex C, Maya and I could head out for our first Cross Country Race of the season.
