It was a bittersweet day in division 8 today. While this morning we got to go skating, which is awesome, it was also our last lesson, which is not awesome. I can't believe how much the students improved over the six weeks! After some games, relays and one last group photo, we packed up our skates, helmets and gloves and headed back to the school. Following the recess break, we began to work on a Holiday Art Project. The planning and preparation took the entire 70 minute block, so we finished up the last little bit of our preparation following the lunch break. After being inside for so long, we took advantage of the sunshine outside for DPA, before heading back inside for our Library Book exchange time. A few minutes into our library time, the fire bell sounded, so we whisked ourselves outside, while Langley's finest swept the building to make sure it was safe. (As it turned out, a student pulled the alarm accidentally.) When we finally got back inside there was just enough time to tidy up and do our Secret Santa draw.
HOMEWORK: If any parents or students are willing to lend out their blow dryers for the day tomorrow, it would really help speed up the drying process of our painting projects on Thursday. If you are able to lend a blow dryer, please label it with your Family name, and I will ensure it is returned at the end of the day.
REMINDER: I am looking for a few parent volunteers to help with an crafting project we will be doing next Wednesday. Our class mom Aly Angell has agreed to help, but a few more parents (or grandparents) would be great. We will be making dough ornaments, and need help with helping us bake them in the school ovens. It would be for a few hours only (I hope!). If you are able to help, please email me at: [email protected]
