Mr. Tressel had the honour of starting the day with the Division 8 crew this morning, as it was music class first on the docket today. Following the students return, and a short nutrition break, it was time to head down the the gym to join Mr. Chan's class for Day 2 of our JKE Minor Games Olympics. On the menu...Laundry Basket Ball, and Handball. After 2 classes of competition, Team USA has the early lead, followed by Team Japan, Team Korea, and finally Team Canada, pulling up the rear. Thursday will see us put a wraps on both events, before we transition to 2 more minor games next week. After recess, the class and I went to the Library to join Mrs. Doran for a lesson on accessing the school's library catalogue, as well as the Fraser Valley Regional Library catalogue online. All this is of course part of our preparation for the research portion of the Heritage Fair, which be began to work on this week. After lunch, we went through a detailed outline of the Heritage Fair Project (can be found on the Social Studies page), then went back to the library for book exchange. We capped off our busy day, with some silent reading and snacks! HOMEWORK: If you have not chosen a subject, please have a few ideas in mind, as we will be starting our research tomorrow in class. Also, we are still collecting OPERATION WATERPROOF payments, & permission forms for our swimming program later this Spring. |
