To say today didn't go to plan, would be a massive understatement. But when you're given lemons, you make lemonade, right?!
Today was supposed to mark the first of our six skating lessons at Sportsplex, and while I am incredibly appreciative to the parents who offered to help this morning by driving students to the rink and tying student skates, all their efforts were for not, as a power outage kept us off the ice. We returned to James Kennedy to find that the school too, was in the dark. With the sun shining, and our blinds open, we pressed on an created our new table groups for the coming month. After recess, we returned to class and finished making corrections to our Math quiz, before settling on our new table groups for the month (see landing page for new teams). During our abbreviated afternoon session, we had our usual silent reading block, followed by a trip to the Library for the Scholastic Book Fair, and then capped the day with a quick game for points.
SPECIAL NOTE: A massive and heartfelt THANK YOU to all the parents and grandparents who came this morning to help drive our students to the ice rink. I am incredibly grateful for your offer of help, and for taking time out from your busy schedules.
