The skating gods were on our side this morning, as the power stayed on in the arena, all the kids got on the ice, with little or no incidents or issues, and the head skating instructor was thoroughly impressed. ;-) When we got back to school it was recess, and the students finally grabbed their snacks when they came back in from outside. Following our snack break, we reviewed the spelling vocabulary for the week, and the students made, then shared their sentences with the class. A handful of students left class a bit early before lunch to rehearse for their poetry reading and help Mrs. Lainchbury and Mrs. Roberts set up for our Remembrance Day Assembly. Speaking of the assembly, it was one of the best we've had at JKE in the time I've been here, and Jasleen, Angela, Maya, Megan O, Megan G, Emily and Alex war poetry readings were a huge part of the success. With that said, both Mrs. Gore and I were very impressed, and I made sure to compliment our entire class for their attention and respectful behaviour in the gym. Super pleased Division 8!!!!
HOMEWORK: If students didn't finish writing out their 20 sentences based on their spelling words, please have those completed and the words reviewed and practiced, ahead of tomorrow's quiz.
REMINDER: Tomorrow is the last day of school ahead of our extended 4 day long weekend. If you have the time, please take a moment to attend one of the many Remembrance Day ceremonies taking place around the Lower Mainland this Saturday. If not, then please observe a moment of silence at 11am on November 11th as a way to pay respect to those who sacrificed so much for our freedom and way of life.
