Our day began with a homework review activity in which the students shared then voted on the best of their sentences based on this week's spelling words. Of the 27 students, only 8 completed their homework, so while that needs to improve, the quality and originality of sentences were excellent. Mrs. Gore popped by for a bit, as part of our continued work on our Entrepreneur Fair, which has officially been set for Monday, December the 4th in the gym. Speaking of the gym, the right before recess, it was the location of day two of our Quidditch Round Robin Tournament. (See the results below in the photo gallery.) Thursday, will sadly, mark the end of our Quidditch unit, but it will end with the crowning of a first ever JKE Quidditch Champion! In the midday, the students continued to work through their math reviews, ahead of tomorrow's math quiz. In the back half of the day, the students were given the option of studying for their math quiz, finishing their Halloween decorations or reading quietly.
HOMEWORK: Please be sure to study for tomorrow's math quiz. (All the students were told exactly what to study for in class, so that they can use their study time wisely tonight.)
REMINDER: Tomorrow is Photo Retakes Day at JKE.
NOTE: Thank you to all the parents who filled in the Skating and the Halloween Party permission forms. For those of you, who have not, please get the forms and funds in as soon as possible. Also please remember that we will have our Spooktacular this Friday evening, but the day to wear costumes to school during the day is actually on Tuesday. Finally, our Skating lessons start in a week's time, and we are still looking for more parent (or grandparent) drivers for next week. As it stands now, we have about half of our class covered for rides to the rink.
