We put a wraps on our baking demonstrations this morning, with three more groups presenting their recipes. On the menu today were brownies covered with chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon buns and Wow butter energy balls! Once all the groups had cleaned up, the students pushed the tables and chairs to the outside of the class and laid down to watch a short film about Space Travel on the ceiling of our classroom. Very cool!! After lunch it was time to divide up our baked goods and sample some of the students' culinary treats. With the Grade sixes heading off to Explorations, the grade fives took some much needed quiet time to read, before a short blast of exercise outside, then back indoors to Read, Write, Draw or Play until the end of the day.
REMINDER: The next deadline for the Heritage Fair is this coming Tuesday (as there isn't any classes on Monday), when students need to have the final draft of their Written Report completed. I will also be checking their Heritage Fair Duotangs for organiztion and to see if they've been tracking their sources properly on their Pink tracking forms.
NOTE: Here are some details to help keep your work organized while completing your Heritage Fair work this weekend.

NOTE: Here are some details to help keep your work organized while completing your Heritage Fair work this weekend.
- The Heritage Fair notes DO NOT need to be rewritten or typed, they simply need to be kept in their duotangs.
- Tracking forms should list any source (Website, book, encyclopedia, newspaper, video, etc...) that the student has used for information in researching their topic. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE BIBLIOGRAPHY, we will format one in class with the students.
- The Written Report is a 1.5 - 3 page typed summary of the topic, and the key points researched about the topic. A good format to follow if you are struggling to complete your report is:
- Paragraph one: Introduce yourself and why you chose your topic.
- Paragraph two: Provide answers on / details about your first guiding questions
- Paragraph three: Provide answers on / details about your second guiding questions
- Paragraph four: Provide answers on / details about your third guiding questions
- **Follow the same format for subsequent paragraphs for each of your additional guiding questions.**
- Final Paragraph: Summarize the most important points about your topic and what you enjoyed most about researching your topic.
