Day two of our Quidditch tournament went off this morning, with all teams getting in at least one game. Both Mr. Chan and I have been really impressed with the level of competition, teamwork and fair play to date. While in the gym, the Grade sixes were off with the other 6s and 7s learning more about their changing bodies. Once we were all back in the class together, we discussed and wrote about our strengths & weaknesses, as well as self-esteem and giving yourself permission to make mistakes and the learning that can come from failure. After recess, the students who were 100% completed their BC Communities projects, broke off into small groups to practice presenting their work, while those students who needed a bit more time to make corrections or add details had time before meeting with me for feedback. The afternoon was non-typical, as they had 20 minutes to work on their French Flash Cards before heading to the gym to see the Grinch that Stole Christmas, before bundling up and heading outside for some daily physical activity. The day was wrapped with a short assembly about a new reporting tool that is being rolled out across the province called Erase: Report It Tool. (www.erase.gov.bc.ca)
REMINDER: Tomorrow is presentation day for our BC Community Projects. Please take the time to practice presenting it to a fiend or family member tonight.
NOTE: I am still looking for at least one more driver for our field trip to LEFT next Friday. If you are able to help with driving, please email me at: [email protected]
