After a day away for the students on Monday, we dove right into things this morning with some French vocabulary review and translation exercises. After we'd completed our clothing review, the Grade fives began to create French Flash Cards, while the Grade sixes took their talents to the gym for Band. After recess, we discussed a learned a bit more about the "Forgotten War", then listened to a veteran's first hand account of his experiences in the Korean War. From his testimonial, we drew out our vocabulary list for this week's spelling (which can be found on the English Page). After lunch, it was Round Robin Day One for our Annual Quidditch Tournament. Each of the teams played twice, and each registered a win and a loss. While the pictures don't capture it, it was an exciting half hour of action!!! In the final hour of our day, the students had time to work on, and get help with their BC Communities Research Projects which are due in class on Thursday.
REMINDER: Tomorrow is Skating Lesson #4. If students and Parent-Drives can meet in the classroom, then we can hit the road at the second bell and get to the rink on time for our lesson.
REMINDER FROM MME. VAN BEMMEL FOR OUR GRADE SIXES: The Young Entrepreneurs Fair is next Wednesday and there's only one more class period to work on their projects. They'll need to have the following ready for Friday:
