We would usually kick off our Friday with some sort of warm up activity before doing our Spelling quiz, but with a busy schedule ahead of us, the students jumped right into their Spelling quiz. Once it was done, and corrected, we had a few minutes to discuss what it means to be respectful and responsible. We had someone deface my standing desk with graffiti, and so we took a few moments to discuss my disappointment, and how important it is to be respectful and accountable for our actions. After our class talk, the students broke off and headed either to Band or Health Class. In the mid part of our day, we had a trivia challenge, reviewing many of the topics we'd studied since the start of the year, and while all the groups did extremely well, none could make up ground on the Oilers, who took this month's prize as top table group. Congratulations to Kayte, Logan, Emmy, Owen, Iah and Skylar. In the afternoon, the Grade 6s headed for Enrichment Class, the Grade 5s stayed behind, had silent reading, watched another Educational Solar System video, then had time to get caught up on their class work.
HOMEWORK: Students need to have an initial rough copy of their written report complete for Monday. To help students (and parents/guardians) I have posted nearly all of the handouts for the Heritage Fair on the Social Studies page. See below for a sample graphic to help with writing organization for the rough draft of the Written Report.
