Friday = Fun Day!! With the class not being allowed to throw snowballs outside, we opted to do it inside. We did an activity called Snowball Story Telling. The students had 30 seconds to write a start to a story, then crumpled up their paper and tossed it at their classmates, who then could pick up a paper "snowball" and throw it back. We repeated this 5 times, each time the students unravelled the paper ball, added to a story, then crumpled it back up and tossed it around. After about 10 minutes, the students put the final touches on whichever story they finished with, then shared their collaborative work. Lots of fun!! Once all the paper "snowballs" were recycled, we moved onto reading and asking comprehension questions based on the News Story Summaries the students wrote earlier in the week. At just before 10am, Mrs. King rolled in and the students joined forces with Mr. Chan's class to work on their health workbooks. After recess the class divided into Grade Groups and the Grade 6s worked on their Passion Projects, while the Grade 5s continued with their news stories, then headed outside to enjoy the sun and snow with some DPA. The afternoon saw the grade sixes head off to their Enrichment classes, while the grade fives and I stuck around to work on their Heritage Fair Projects.
