It was paint day for our Woodblock Racers at JKE, while other students came bay to collect their Woodblock Racer kits. (If anyone forgot to come get their Woodblock Racer kit, I will leave them for you to collect on Monday or Tuesday on the shelf outside the Office door. Each one has the student's name on it, so please take the correct kit.) The deadline to have your cars complete and brought back to school is Thursday, June 11th. Please bring your completed cars to me at the back door of the classroom between 9:00 - 12:00pm as we are planning to photograph and take videos of each of the cars that day, so that we can have our Car Show on Friday, June 12th. *We are hoping to have our Race Day on Thursday, June 18th.*
My apologies for not updating yesterday's Daily Recap as it has been a whirlwind past 48 hours. With the past 48 hours in mind, I have some exciting, yet heartbreaking news to pass along.
After a lot of thought and discussion with my family, school administration and some deep consideration on my part, I have agreed to accept a new teaching position at RE Mountain Secondary in the Fall. As exciting as my new opportunity is, I am saddened to be leaving a school that I adore so much. I have absolutely loved my 4 years at James Kennedy Elementary, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of each of your (or your children's) educational journey. With the knowledge that I won't be returning in September, I am going to enjoy every last moment remaining in this school year!
Have a fantastic weekend and I'll see you all online on Monday morning for our Meet Up!
