It's hard to believe that just 17 days ago we were high-fiving, crab-soccering and pizza partying in our classroom. Seems like an eternity ago since our world was turned on its ear and that social distancing, self-isolating and daily Covid-19 news conferences became the new norm. With all this said, I wanted to quickly reach out to each of the families to assure you that plans are now being discussed and formed in order to offer online educational options for the students for the duration of this pandemic or the school year, whichever ends first.
While it's depressing to not meet up and have class in person, given the severity and risks of the outbreak, it is what is necessary at this time. The sooner we do our part to isolate ourselves from the virus, the sooner we will hopefully be able to return to class. In the meantime, please check in daily on the class website as. you have been throughout the year to find out the latest, and when new information is available, I will share it with you.
Each family should have been receiving regular updates from the School District, Mrs. Lainchbury and Mrs. Sollows, but if you haven't been getting those emails or if you have any questions, please email me back at: [email protected] and I will do my best to help.
In the meantime, my only advice for the students (other than to be safe), is to try to get yourself back into a regular school routine by getting up early, having breakfast, getting some exercise, doing some reading or writing and doing your best to carve out some time in your day to get some school work done. Provided everything goes to plan this week, I will be able to send out work and assignments beginning next week.
Take care!
Mr. Main
