It was really great to connect with the class this morning after not having touched base with one another as a class since Friday. We kicked off our meet up by singing Happy Birthday to Cole, and then got into correcting the first 2 pages of yesterday's Math Measurement worksheet. Some of the students mentioned they didn't have rulers, so if you are still without one, please try to get one as soon as possible as it will be vital to doing measurements over the next few weeks. I really wanted to get the students more involved, as online teaching is definitely not the optimal platform to see whether the students are engaged or not. I rolled out a powerpoint with 5 questions that focussed on different methods of measurement. I have attached a PDF copy below. We went through each of the questions and answers, and as has been the case every week, we went overtime.
**For the students who remained online until 11:50am, THANK YOU! I really appreciate you staying to finish the lesson even though it was after 11:30am.**
HOMEWORK: I have attached a really fun (but challenging) Movie Escape Room that Mr. Chan created last week to the Weekly Learning Schedule. It is definitely a good mental workout and strongly suggest you give it a try. My advice is to tackle it with your parents' help, as it will test your movie trivia and puzzle solving abilities. Here is the link: Bitly.com/moviebo
NOTE: Please double check what time your reading group is scheduled for as the times have changed from Thursday. I have also assigned this week's Epic book for reading groups and it is called "Green Energy". Also I have posted the Picasso Face Art that was submitted on the Art Gallery page.
