The students had the chance to review their Bilingual Baking assignments first thing this morning, and I checked in with every group to make sure they know what they need to bring for Thursday's in class presentations. ** All students need to have their supplies and ingredients ready for Thursday morning, as we will begin the Bilingual Baking Show shortly after we return from gym class. ** In the mid part of the school day, our class joined our Lil' Buddies to either work on the Kindergartners' Body Art projects, or to work on our JKE Mural project. After lunch it was time to crown a champion in our Laundry Basket Ball tournament, and both first and third place games proved to be completely different from one another. In the third place game, Ravenclaw proved mightiest as they topped Slytherin by a score of 18 - 8 . The first place game on the other hand was a back and forth affair with Gryffindor edging Hufflepuff by a final score of 17 - 15. When we returned from gym class, there was about half an hour before the grade 5s headed to Music class, so those who needed a bit more information for their Heritage Fair project, headed to the library where Ms. Doran helped them find additional information on their research topic. While the majority of the class headed to Music, the remaining sixth graders stayed behind to help hang up Crazy Hair Day posters, then worked on their Heritage Fair projects.
HOMEWORK: It is really important that the students are well into their research on their Heritage Fair projects. We are only two week s away from the deadline and needing to present their work. I am planning to dedicate much of our day on Wednesday to checking in on progress, so please make sure everyone has their Heritage Fair Duotangs, their notes and any additional supplies they need to work on their projects. While it's not an official check in tomorrow, I will be focusing on those students who are behind.
