**Due to the uncertainty of the safety of the roads to Seymour, school administration has made the final decision to postpone tomorrow's planned ski trip. The changes mean that participating Grade 6s and 7s will go to Seymour as usual on January 22nd, and then again on the new date of February 5th. Students should come to school as usual tomorrow (provided the schools are open). Students will not need to pay more for the change in date. The mountain is accommodating this change. **
Day two of our record breaking cold snap did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the students, as they were energetic and keen to go. After our day began with some Current Events exploration time on the iPads and Laptops, the grade sixes then headed to the gym for Band class, while the grade fives stayed behind to hang out with Ms. Chijiwa's class and Mrs. King. After recess, we continued to dive deeper into current events and focused in on a story about this evening's pending weather event. <CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK TO THE WEATHER NETWORK STORY> The afternoon saw the entire class return to the gym to continue fitness testing, before returning for some silent reading. The day ended with the grade fives heading next door for Music, while the remaining sixth graders and I read "The 6th Grade Nickname Game."
NOTE: There will not be a spelling quiz this week.
REMINDER: Check your emails, the JKE or the school district websites and our local news radio stations for updates about possible school snow closures tomorrow.
