Great reading sessions this morning. I loved reading the Martin Luther King, Jr. book together with the students and discussing civil rights and how it pertains to the Black Lives Matter Movement that is underway across the United States, Canada and the rest of the globe. With only a few weeks remaining in this school year, I am really going to miss my time reading with the students and discussing current events. Speaking of current events, part of tomorrow's Weekly Learning Schedule activities is to watch a CBC Kids News video about the protests that are ongoing for racial equality across our country and in the U.S. The video link is now posted on the Literacy page for anyone who would rather watch it tonight, and perhaps have a dinner time discussion with their family this evening.
HOMEWORK: Please make sure you have everything you need to complete your Woodblock Racer so that it can be dropped off at the outside classroom door between 9am - noon on Thursday morning. Also, please check though last week's WLS to ensure you have all your assignments or comments posted.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's finished Woodblock Racers later this week, so that we can get your creations lacquered, photographed and up on the website as part of our Car Show.
Have a great night!
